The Suicide Bitches nace el año 2006 con la idea de hacer música rock bajo la influencia principalmente de bandas como The Stooges, Kyuss, Queens Of The Stone Age y Nirvana. La primera formación del grupo estaba compuesta por Felipe Arriagada (voz), Alberto Hayden (guitarra), Sebastián Rodríguez (batería) y Pablo Fontecilla (bajo). Al poco tiempo ingresó Nicolás Salinas como primera guitarra, pero estuvo sólo un par de ensayos, hasta que llegó Gonzalo Hayden a reemplazarlo definitivamente. Desde ese momento han venido presentaciones en vivo en lugares emblemáticos del circuito de rock independiente nacional como la Trifulka, Club Mist, Bar Constitución, Bar Onaciú, Centro Cultural Amanda, Bar Loreto, Bar La Cantera (Valparaíso) y otros.

Con la llegada de Gonzalo Hayden, la formación se mantuvo íntegra hasta el año 2008, año de la grabación del primer EP de la banda llamado ‘Johnny Yen‘. Sin embargo, al poco tiempo de terminadas las grabaciones, Sebastián Rodríguez deja la banda y en su lugar ingresa Javier Mansilla (Las Madres y Niño Envuelto), quien se mantiene hasta hoy en día.

En diciembre 2010 The Suicide Bitches abre el show en vivo de Stone Temple Pilots en Chile. Dicha presentación fue elegida entre los cinco mejores teloneos del año en Chile por Radio Sonar. Ese mismo año la canción “Fall Like a Stone Breathing my Air Yeah” forma parte de la banda sonora de la película MP3 de Radio Sonar.

En 2012 la banda es invitada a participar del festival SXSW (South By Southwest) en Austin, Texas donde aprovechan la instancia de lanzar su disco debut ‘The Farm of The Suicide Bitches in Heaven‘. Desde su estreno a la fecha el LP ha recibido excelentes comentarios de la crítica especializada chilena. En julio de 2012 son la única banda hispanoamericana invitada al participar del Festival CBGB en Nueva York. El prolífico año culmina con una excelente participación en Maquinaria Festival Chile.

El 2013 comenzó con la publicación del videoclip de “Chinaski”, el cual es el resultado de la campaña participativa #AcciónChinaski. Y paralelamente dan inicio a “El Tour Suicida” con shows por varias ciudades de Chile y cerrando en la primera versión del festival latinoamericano Frontera y abriendo el show de los canadienses Japandroids en Centro Arte Alameda para el Ciclo Suena.

Este 2015 lanzan su nuevo disco ‘SEMENATION’, editado por Beast Discos y TuneLess Records, donde destaca como primer single “Say May Name”.

The Suicide Bitches formed in 2006 with the idea of ​​making rock music mainly influenced by bands such as The Stooges, Kyuss, Queens Of The Stone Age and Nirvana. The first lineup of the band consisted of Felipe Arriagada (voice), Alberto Hayden (guitar), Sebastian Rodriguez (drums) and Pablo Fontecilla (bass guitar). Soon after Nicolás Salinas joined as the lead guitarist, he stayed in the band for a couple of rehearsals until Gonzalo Hayden came to replace him as the definitive lead guitarist. With that formation they presented in different stages of the Chilean indie rock circuit such as Trifulka, Mist Club, Bar Constitution, Onaciú Bar, Centro Cultural Amanda, Bar Loreto and Bar La Cantera (Valparaiso) among others.

The band remained intact until 2008, year of production of the band’s first EP called ‘Johnny Yen‘. However, shortly after the recording was finished, drummer Sebastian Rodriguez left the band and was replaced by Javier Mansilla (drummer in “Las Madres” and “Niño Envuelto”), Mansilla is the current drummer of the band.

In December 2010 The Suicide Bitches opened for Stone Temple Pilots at Movistar Arena´s stage. The band´s gig was chosen as one of the top five openings of the year in Chile by Radio Sonar. The same year the song ‘Fall Like a Stone Breathing My Air Yeah‘ became part of the soundtrack of “MP3” a feature film developed by Radio Sonar.

In 2012 the band was invited to SXSW ( South by Southwest) Festival in Austin, Texas, where they released their debut LP ‘The Farm of The Suicide Bitches in Heaven‘. Since it’s release, this work has received excellent reviews from the chilean music critics in diverse media. By July 2012, The Suicide Bitches became the only hispanic band invited to perform at CBGB´s Festival in New York City.
